Kindergarten Students Celebrated for Reading Growth with Special Pizza Party

Kindergarten students at Penn Hills Elementary wrapped up the school year with a memorable celebration recognizing their hard work and growth in reading.

Superintendent Dr. John Mozzocio treated students to a pizza party, honoring the outstanding achievements of the district’s youngest learners. The celebration recognized students who demonstrated exceptional growth and achievement on literacy assessments throughout the school year.

Adding to the excitement, Pete the Cat made a special appearance and helped present awards to students for their accomplishments. Students were recognized in three categories:

Rockstar Reader Award – Presented to students who demonstrated excellence on the STAR CBM assessment.

Cool Cat Reader Award – Awarded to students for outstanding achievement in STAR Early Literacy.

Groovy Effort Award – Recognized students who achieved the highest growth on STAR CBM assessments throughout the year.

The celebration highlighted the dedication and enthusiasm for learning shown by the kindergarten class. Students enjoyed pizza, awards, and plenty of fun as they reflected on a year filled with academic growth and success.

Penn Hills School District is proud of its kindergarten students and all they have accomplished during their first year of school. The pizza party served as a fun and fitting way to celebrate their achievements and send them into summer with confidence.
