Penn Hills School District Appoints New Associate Principal for Penn Hills Elementary School
The Penn Hills School District has appointed Ms. Cyrene Bey as the new Associate Principal for Kindergarten and Grade 1 at Penn Hills Elementary School.
October 17, 2024 – Penn Hills – At a Special Public Voting Meeting on October 16, the Penn Hills School District Board of School Directors appointed Ms. Cyrene Bey as the Associate Principal for Kindergarten and Grade 1 at Penn Hills Elementary School.
Currently, Ms. Bey is the Building Principal at Dr. Cleveland Steward Jr. Elementary School within the Gateway School District. Prior to her role at Gateway, she served as the Associate Principal for Grades 2 and 3 at Penn Hills Elementary.
With a diverse background in education, Ms. Bey has worked as a behavioral health counselor, science specialist, and teacher for both third and fifth grades.
"Having worked with Ms. Bey as an Associate Principal at Penn Hills Elementary School for nine years, I can confidently say that her return is a tremendous asset to our school. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience that will greatly benefit our students and staff," said Mrs. Kristin Brown who will transition to the Director of Pupil Services.
Ms. Bey holds a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Carlow University and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership, Administration and Policy Studies, and Curriculum Development from the University of Pittsburgh.
"Ms. Bey comes highly recommended, and I believe the Penn Hills Elementary team is thrilled to welcome her back," remarked Dr. John Mozzocio, Superintendent of Penn Hills School District. "Her leadership experience at Gateway will undoubtedly serve her well in this new position."
Ms. Bey's start date is yet to be confirmed.
