What is Safe2Say Something?

Safe2SaySomething is a youth violence prevention program run by the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General that teaches youth and adults how to recognize warning signs and signals from individuals who may be a threat to themselves or others, particularly on social media, and to "say something" before it is too late. 

In 2018, the Pennsylvania General Assembly approved Act 44, which requires every school district in Pennsylvania to implement Safe2Say Something and train all school district officials as well as students in grades 6-12. 

It is simple and discreet to report safety concerns to help prevent violence and tragedies using the anonymous reporting system.

Harassment Policy

The Penn Hills School District does NOT tolerate sexual harassment. Retaliation against individuals who file complaints about sexual harassment, or interference with the investigation of such complaints, is prohibited. Any student or staff member who believes he or she has been subjected to sexual harassment is encouraged to report the harassment to Robert Kollar, Title IX Compliance Officer (412-793-7000, extension 1260, or 260 Aster Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15235), who in turn will conduct a prompt investigation. Students or staff found to have engaged in sexual harassment or retaliation will be promptly disciplined and, if circumstances warrant, students may be subject to suspension or expulsion, and staff may be subject to consequences up through and including termination.

Counseling and education resources are available to students who have been sexually harassed as well as to students found to have engaged in acts of sexual harassment. At the discretion of administration, similar services will be available to staff. The Penn Hills School District encourages students, parents and District staff to work together to prevent sexual harassment.
